I like the sunrise cos it brings a new day
I like the new day it brings new hope they say
I like the sunrise blazing in the new sky
Night times so weary and oh so am i
Every evening I wish upon a star
That my brand new bright tomorrow isn’t very far
When that heavy blue curtain on night
Is raised up high way out of sight
I like the sunrise so heavenly to see
I like the sunrise and I hope it likes poor me
Here comes the sunrise…
I Like the Sunrise ~ sung by Amel Larrieux
I really do like the sunrise. Actually, I more than like the sunrise – I love the sunrise. I love the effects of the sun when it touches everything in the city as it rises — like the way it reflects on these windows. It’s like magic!
October 9 happens to be the one-year anniversary of this blog. I never thought I’d have a photo blog nor did I think I’d have enough photos to post for one month, much less one whole year. If you’re interested in how I got started, you can read my story in the About section.
I’m having fun and I love learning all kinds of things from you all. I want to thank everyone who stops by here, especially those who take time to leave comments. It’s no fun without you.

Ed.Note: Thanks, everyone, for your well wishes for my blog’s one-year anniversary It’s much appreciated!
For those interested this photo was taken from the Bronx, looking towards the Washington Heights area (Upper West Side of Manhattan).

First morning’s light from one minute to another in the early morning hours of the city.

More Golden Windows

It happens in a New York Minute. The sun rises and casts shadows on the building. Soon the windows are lit and look golden. Here are three different sets of buildings that the sunrise touches.
