New York Water Taxi is a water taxi service that provides commuter and sightseeing service along the East River and Hudson River (the West Side, Lower Manhattan and Downtown Brooklyn).  The photos above show the water taxi approaching the East side pier at 34th Street in Manhattan.  The water taxi is a great way to see many of the city’s famous landmarks — from the skyline, Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge, Ellis Island and more.

I want to thank everyone for the kind messages left for me regarding my dog.  I appreciate them very much.

Graduation Time!

June 4, 2010 | Filed Under Columbia University, Slideshow | 11 Comments

The month of May held a lot of school graduations all over the city.  One was at Columbia University.  Every year, it always seems to rain on the day of this college’s commencement ceremony.  There’s a saying on the campus that if it rains on graduation day, it means good luck.  I thought that belief was only held for weddings, however, I suppose it’s a good wish for a graduate to have, too.

Despite the rain, everyone looked happy — both the graduates, their family (especially the proud parents) and friends.  The heavy rain drops did not dampen their festive spirit.  Later that evening, the top of the Empire State building was lit in the colors of blue and white, the official colors of the college.

Here are a few scenes after the graduation ceremony.  Thanks, Klaus, for helping me put this slideshow together.  Whew!
