One of the public library branches. I love that not only can I borrow books from the library, but I can also borrow DVDs, CDs and video tapes to my heart’s content. Very cool!

Patience
Patience and Fortitude, are probably the most famous lions in the city. They sit in front of the New York Public Library. As you face the library, Patience sits on the left and Fortitude sits on the right. I’m tempted to tell you that I heard a very low growl come out of one of them, but I’m afraid Maryam will say it’s the voices in my head and tell me to take my medication. So, I’m keeping what I hear to myself.
For the holidays, they are dressed in wreaths around their necks. There’s even a little ceremony, which includes carolers, that takes place when the lions are wreathed.

A minute before: A pigeon perched on the handle flew off. I’m sure the lion was happy about that.
