Ruby Tuesday: On the Water

October 12, 2010 | Filed Under Boats, East River, Photo Blogging Theme Day, Rivers, Ruby Tuesday | 10 Comments

I took this photo in September.  The blue boat is the NYC Police and the red boat is the U.S. Coast Guard.

Happy Ruby Tuesday!   Visit WORK OF THE POET to see other photos with the color red theme.

Ed. Note:  The boats were on safety patrol during the United Nations General Assembly meeting, when a lot of diginitaries, including the U.S. president attended the conference.

New York Water Taxi is a water taxi service that provides commuter and sightseeing service along the East River and Hudson River (the West Side, Lower Manhattan and Downtown Brooklyn).  The photos above show the water taxi approaching the East side pier at 34th Street in Manhattan.  The water taxi is a great way to see many of the city’s famous landmarks — from the skyline, Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge, Ellis Island and more.

I want to thank everyone for the kind messages left for me regarding my dog.  I appreciate them very much.

Let’s Exercise!

On second thought, let’s just watch people exercise on the East River Walk, on a very cool but clear October day.  The East River Walk is a pathway alongside the East River where people can walk or exercise.

Ed. Note:  For the record, I was in a car when I took these photos.   ;-)
