Lament of the Lonely Bench

Nobody wants to sit on me,

Nobody cares at all, you see;

Nobody sings sweet songs to me—

I sit in the shade alone.

If I were bright and fiery red

Someone would come and lay his head

On my lap and make it his bed—

But here I sit all alone.

Zephyrs of spring, I long for you

To melt the snow and make things new

Bringing a honeybee or two,

So I won’t sit all alone.

A man and his dog is a beautiful sight to me.

The dog kept barking at him until he threw a ball for the dog to chase.

SAID DOG TO HIS MASTER

Said Dog to his master, “Please throw
A ball somewhere out in the snow.
I’ll chase it, I will,
As though it were kill,
And bring it back to you in tow.”

Shadows across the park water fountain. I just realized that I posted a similar photo taken in November 2009 for Shadow Shot Sunday. Very interesting. Well, I took this current photo in December 2010 (December 2, to be exact). Stop by HEY HARRIET to do some more shadow chasing around the world.

THE FOUNTAIN IS DRY

The fountain is dry, no more does it gush;

The waters are still, they no longer rush;

The thirsty must go to Starbucks, I guess,

And pay for their drink—oh, my, what a mess!
