I love how nature decorates the city — like with these white roses. This is my contribution to Ecological Day, a monthly photo blogging theme event, started by Sonia of LEAVES OF GRASS. It falls on the second day of every month. We only have one Earth, folks, so let’s be good to it.

Ecological Day: Azaleas

I love to see these flowers when they bloom (I think they are Rhododendrons. Please correct me if they are not.). Nature always beautifies the city.
This is my post for Ecological Day, an informal, monthly photo theme day blogging event. Started by Sonia of LEAVES OF GRASS, it takes place the second day of every month (yes, I know that the second day of the month has already passed. Pretend with me that it hasn’t. Okay?
).
Check out Sonia’s blog post on a photo essay of feral houses. Fascinating!
We only have one earth, folks, so let’s take good care of it.

Ed. Note: Thanks Christine, Constance and Gisela on correcting me about the flowers. Azaleas. Got it!

Ecological Day: Pieris Japonica/Valley Rose

I took a photo of this Pieris Japonica/Valley Rose in February. I was suprised to see this unique-looking plant alive and well, despite the snow around it. Nature is marvelous! We only have one earth, folks. So, let’s be good to it.

Ecological Day and Ruby Tuesday

This is one of the many entrances to Central Park. Nature looks so beautiful, blanketed with snow. We only have one earth, so let’s be good to it, folks. This photo blogging theme, started by Sonia of LEAVES OF GRASS, falls on the second day of every month.

I imagine that these two are on their way to play in the snow in Central Park. How could I miss that red, which is perfect for the photo blogging theme, RUBY TUESDAY, started by Mary the Teach. Stop by WORK OF THE POET to see other Ruby Tuesday photos.

Two-for-One: Ecological Day & Ruby Tuesday
February 1, 2010 | Filed Under Begonias, Ecological Day, Flowers, Nature in NYC, Photo Blogging Theme Day, Ruby Tuesday | 17 Comments

Today happens to be ECOLOGICAL DAY, which falls on the second day of every month. Sonia of LEAVES OF GRASS created this photo blogging theme day.
It also happens to be RUBY TUESDAY, the day to post a photo featuring the color red. Mary the Teach of WORK OF THE POET created this theme day.
I happen to have a photo to fit both photo themes, so here is a two-fer-one post — red flowers for Ruby Tuesday and a nature’s beautiful flowers for Ecological Day.
I took this photo during the last days of Autumn in early December. Each day, the weather continued to get colder but it was nice to see the flowers still in bloom. Today they no longer exist. It will be nice when Nature acts accordingly and the flowers bloom again during Spring time.
We have only one Earth, folks. So, let’s take good care of it.
