A View from the Bus

This bus is going from the West side to the East side of Manhattan, across Central Park.  Sitting in the front of the bus, I see what the bus driver sees.  Good thing there isn’t any traffic.

Happy weekend, all!

Ed. Note:  For those curious or concerned, I was sitting up front in the bus when I took this photo.  It wouldn’t be a smart thing to stand and take photos in a moving city bus.  If the bus made a sudden stop (which happens often), I could see myself lunging forward towards the windshield.  Wouldn’t want that.  ;-)

Also, while the bus is in motion, there’s a white line on the floor of the bus, away from the front area, behind which passengers are instructed to stand (Note the ‘Danger’ sign in the photo.).  It’s a way to prevent accidents on the bus or serious injuries in case there’s an accident.  I’ve been on a bus on different occasions, where the bus driver will refuse to continue driving if a passenger refuses to move behind the white line.  ;-)

Morning Rush Hour Traffic

Oh, my!  So many buses at the same time!  They are different buses going to different routes heading downtown.  Along Fifth Avenue, early in the  morning, these buses transport busy New Yorkers going to work, school and other places.
