A Special Call/Message?

This officer seemed very connected to his cell phone.  A special call or important text message?  What do you think?

How Much is that Doggy Sweater in the Window?

These dog sweaters were on display in the window of a pet shop in Chelsea.  They were on sale, I suppose because it’s no longer cold.  See, even the dogs in the city can go shopping and find a good sale.  ;-)

Scenes in Chelsea

Getting coffee and dessert at Sarabeth’s in Chelsea Market, a food shop and shopping mall.

Chelsea Market was built in a former Nabisco factory. You can find this clock at the entrance of the building.

The High Line is an elevated rail line, which was used to transport freight from the Hudson River waterfront.

The High Line is now being turned into an elevated park.

These posters and the name on the wall (Moran’s) caught my eye as we walked up Ninth Ave.

Spring IS Here!

The General Theological Seminary of the Episcopal Church

The adventures of Elizabeth and Paz continued as we stopped by the grounds and garden of a huge theological seminary in the Chelsea area — The General Theological Seminary of the Episcopal Church.

The past couple of days, the weather has been cold, rainy and gray (It’s supposed to rain all day this Friday).  The day Elizabeth and I walked around, it had rained in spurts throughout the day.  Luckily, as we walked around, the rain seemed to have stopped just for us.

Reader comments in the previous posts below have lamented about the whereabouts of spring, but I believe it’s already here — right under our noses.  In the seminary garden, evidence of spring was all around us.  I saw beautiful flowering trees, budding flowers, chirping birds, and happy children running around in brightly colored playground.  Have a look.  Yup!  Spring is here.

The Flower Shop

As Elizabeth and I spent the day in the Chelsea neighborhood, we walked down Ninth Avenue, passing by old apartment office buildings, historical churches, stately brownstones, and different restaurants and shops.  The attractive yellow flowers in the flower shop window attracted us.  We stopped to admire them before stepping inside.  So many beautiful flowers.  Elizabeth impressed me with her knowledge of all the names of the flowers.  Very cool!  Check out her NY photos here and her Moroccan photos here.
