A Quiet and Pink Street…

…On the Upper West Side of Manhattan.  I’m enjoying seeing the different flowers (including these pink roses) all over the city.

Ed. Note:  Just learned from Faye in the comments section that these pink beauties are called Knock Out Roses. I love the name.  I’m knocked out by their beauty.    Thanks for the name, Faye.    ;-)

I saw this Beach Rose (Rosa Rugosa) in the Chelsea area of Manhattan.  It had the most heavenly scent.  Just heavenly.

Today’s Flowers: Alongside the Highway

December 7, 2008 | Filed Under Colors, Flowers, Photo Blogging Theme Day, Pink, Roses, Today's Flowers | 32 Comments

Last week, as I passed along the highway on the East Side (I forget the name), I was surprised to see these beautiful, vibrant, pink flowers still in bloom.  I have no idea what kind of flowers these are.  Do you?

Happy Monday, everyone!

Ed. Note:  Thanks, everyone, for letting me know these are ROSES — wild roses.  LOL!  I thought I’d recognize a rose when I saw it.  Apparently not.  I simply did not expect to see roses on the side of the highway (the FDR Drive, by the way, I just remembered the name) at this time of year.  The roses certainly looked beautiful there.  I’m glad I was able to notice them and learn something new from you all.

Today’s Flowers: Pink Rose

October 12, 2008 | Filed Under Flowers, Photo Blogging Theme Day, Roses, Today's Flowers | 53 Comments

I took this photo at the end of summer, a few weeks ago.  It was the last standing flower I saw in a fenced garden outside of a school building.  I couldn’t figure out which photo to chose, so I’ve posted both.  Do you have a preference?

Stop by Today’s Flowers for an awesome lineup of flower photos.

Today’s Flowers: The Drooping White Rose

October 5, 2008 | Filed Under Flowers, Roses, Today's Flowers | 26 Comments

This photo is not upside down.  Instead, the rose is drooping.  I took the photo at the end of summer, not long ago, and it was clear that the flower was on its last leg.  It’s end was very near.

Stop by TODAY’S FLOWERS to see some wonderful flower entries.
