Ecological Day — June 2, 2010

June 1, 2010 | Filed Under Ecological Day, Leaves of Grass blog, Photo Blogging Theme Day, Roses | 11 Comments

I love how nature decorates the city — like with these white roses.  This is my contribution to Ecological Day, a monthly photo blogging theme event, started by Sonia of LEAVES OF GRASS. It falls on the second day of every month.  We only have one Earth, folks, so let’s be good to it. ;-)

Pretty in Pink

May 24, 2010 | Filed Under Broadway Malls, Flowers, Roses | 14 Comments

Pink is not my favorite color but I do think the city looks pretty in pink.  I saw these beautiful pink flowers on a section of the Broadway Malls.  I saw dark pink, pale pink and white roses.  What a lovely sight they make.

So, these beautiful flowers are for you, to start of the week, just right.  ;-)   Happy Monday to you all.

A Rose is a Rose…

June 24, 2009 | Filed Under Flowers, Nature in NYC, Queen of Denmark, Roses | 20 Comments

… is a rose.

That being said, does anyone know what type of rose this is?  LOL!

Ilva  of Lucullian Delights posted a photo of a beautiful rose, which she called Queen of Denmark.  It reminded me of the photo of this rose, which I’d taken sometime ago,  I’m curious to know whether the rose here is similar to Ilva’s.

So what’s the name of this rose?  Is it a Queen of Denmark rose?  Anyone know?

A Quiet and Pink Street…

June 15, 2009 | Filed Under City Streets and Sidewalks, Flowers, Knock Out Roses, Nature in NYC, Roses, West Side | 15 Comments

…On the Upper West Side of Manhattan.  I’m enjoying seeing the different flowers (including these pink roses) all over the city.

Ed. Note:  Just learned from Faye in the comments section that these pink beauties are called Knock Out Roses. I love the name.  I’m knocked out by their beauty.    Thanks for the name, Faye.    ;-)

I saw this Beach Rose (Rosa Rugosa) in the Chelsea area of Manhattan.  It had the most heavenly scent.  Just heavenly.

Visit TODAY’S FLOWERS to see other flower photos.  Have a great week.
