I love to see flowers all over the city.

Seizing the day
July 14, 2011 | Filed Under Broadway, Broadway Malls, New Yorkers | 4 Comments

One cannot tell from this photo that these men are sitting on a little strip of greenery in the middle of a busy street — Broadway. People are not supposed to sit in this particular section. There are other places designated for them to sit (public benches are provided there). Fast cars pass by them on either side, going uptown and downtown. Pedestrians quickly cross the street. Horns are beeping, people are talking, shouting, laughing. Birds are hovering around, looking for food. It’s a busy atmosphere.
However, the men look as if they are enjoying a nice day quiet day, sitting in their backyard. Looks like no matter where they are, they are seizing the day to enjoy some shade, music, and reading.

This construction worker is getting ready to eat lunch. He sits at a part of the Broadway Malls, which I’ve mentioned several times before.

Pretty in Pink
May 24, 2010 | Filed Under Broadway Malls, Flowers, Roses | 14 Comments

Pink is not my favorite color but I do think the city looks pretty in pink. I saw these beautiful pink flowers on a section of the Broadway Malls. I saw dark pink, pale pink and white roses. What a lovely sight they make.
So, these beautiful flowers are for you, to start of the week, just right.
Happy Monday to you all.
