Spring Flowers: Purple

I saw these flowers on the East side.  What is the name — begonias?  Someone correct me, please.

 Ed. Note:  Thanks to Gisela, who has two wonderful blogs, which you can find here and here, I have learned that correct name of the flower above is a PANSY.  Here is what she writes about it:

"The pansy or pansy violet is a plant cultivated as a garden flower.  Pansies are one of the most popular and recognizable cool weather annuals.  Breeding has produced pansies that are better able to stand up to the cold, but there hasn’t been much luck producing more heat tolerant varieties.  Many pansies are bicolored, making them striking plants for their small size.  Although delicate, they are surprisingly hardy.  And like their cousins the violas and violets, the flowers are edible."
