August 3, 2010 | Filed Under Ecological Day, Leaves of Grass blog, Photo Blogging Theme Day | 20 Comments

Can you imagine if there was no greenery in the world? I can’t.
It’s Ecological Day — a photo blogging theme day that takes place the second day of each month. It was created by Sonia of LEAVES OF GRASS.
We only have one Earth, so let’s take care of it!

In Loving Memory of Bobbie
June 23, 2010 | Filed Under Almost There blog, Bloggers, In Memoriam | 15 Comments

I just received sad news that fellow blogger and friend, Bobbie of Almost There recently passed away.
The blogging world can be a wonderful place to meet and interact with interesting and different people, worldwide. That’s how I met Bobbie. She was a terrific person who’d always leave some of the best comments on my blog and send me very nice emails. I enjoyed meeting Bobbie on her blog and learning that she was a caring and admirable person. For those of you who didn’t know Bobbie, stop by her blog, where her daughter, Kitty, has written a beautiful tribute to her mother.
Rest in peace, dear Bobbie.

I love how nature decorates the city — like with these white roses. This is my contribution to Ecological Day, a monthly photo blogging theme event, started by Sonia of LEAVES OF GRASS. It falls on the second day of every month. We only have one Earth, folks, so let’s be good to it.

Plates
June 11, 2009 | Filed Under About New York blog, Photo Blogging Theme Day, Plates | 15 Comments

Elizabeth of About New York is blogging about plates this Friday. "We all have ones we love for sentimental reasons, or maybe they have to do with aspirations — or whatever," she writes. I thought I’d join in on the fun with her. I’ve posted photos of three of my favorite plates.

I love that they’re colorful.

I love that they’re bright.

They make food fun to serve (The above dish is Corn on the cob with Basil Butter).

They make food fun to eat. (The above dish is Spaghetti with Seafood, Tunisian Style)
Stop by ABOUT NEW YORK to see a list of other blogger’s posts on their favorite plates. If you’re interested in participating, blog about your fave plate on Friday or whenever and let Elizabeth know.
Happy Friday, all!

New Look for Spring

Thanks, everyone, for your kind comments about my blog’s new look.
Talented nature photographer, web and graphic designer Klaus of Virtua Gallery is promoting a special where he’ll produce 30 designs in 30 days. I wanted a new blog look to usher in the new season and decided to take him up on his offer. I’m pleased with the results.
If you’re interested in a new look for your blog, go here to read about his offer.

Ed. Note: In case there’s a misunderstanding, 30 Designs in 30 Days means Klaus’ll make 30 different web designs for 30 different blogs (not 30 different designs for my blog alone).
