Peter and the Snow

Thankfully, today, the snow is almost gone on the streets and sidewalks of the city. There are only traces left. I actually took this photo on New Year’s eve, when we had our last snowfall of 2009. It seems so long ago now, especially when we’ve had a more snowstorms since then.
This is Peter Parker, my neighbor’s dog. In case you’re not familiar with the Marvel comic book character, Peter Parker is the real name of superhero Spider-man‘s alterego. You can guess that there’s a Spider-man lover in the household of this dog.
The puppy Peter was adopted from a pet rescue shelter. He loves the snow. His photo reminded me of the animals affected by the quakes in Haiti and most recently, Chile.
If you’d like to help the animals survivors in Haiti, go here.
If you’d like to help the animal survivors in Chile, go here.
GreaterGood.org runs both programs. The charitable organization provides care for not only people but rescued animals. You can read more about them on their site.
Or you can simply provide aid to the local animal shelter/rescue organization in your neighborhood.
Non human animals need help, too.
Paz
