Anyone know the name of this flower?
This is my first entry for TODAY’S FLOWERS. Check out other entries there.

Ed. Note: There have been a few comments about the purple in the background. It is another flower, which you can find HERE. Thanks for your help with the name of the flower above.

Sorry, I don’t but it’s beautiful. Knowing where it was taken might help. And also looking at the leaves; my grandfather was a botany teacher, unfortunately I didn’t inherit the genes (not that I believe they are inherited)!
Hi, Paz
Beautiful and exuberant, the name? no matter …
the important here is that we share so many beauties. have a happy Today’s Flowers.
I thank him for the visits pleasant in my other blog Alecrim Dourado.
hugs, Denise
Lovely, joyful flower - beautiful center! I’m sorry I can’t provide you with a name. Wonderful photo!
I don’t know the name, but it sure does look great!
My flower is now posted, too! Have a great week ahead!
Hi Paz
I do not know the name. Only know that it is very beautiful.
Suffice?
The flower is perfect but I am afraid, I don’t know its name. Thanks for your visit!
Great shot and beautiful flower.
No, I don’t know the name. However, it is lovely.
Good framing ! and a beauty, unknown to me.
Very beautiful! Sorry I can’t help with the ID…
Very beautiful and fragile-looking flower. I like it.
We had the tail end of Hurricane Ike here all day. I lost my cherry tree and a lot of limbs. The neighbors lost three trees and they fell on a power line and that weight broke the power pole. Not a good day here in SW Ohio.
Mine are on Canon Pixels
Paz: Very cool with the purple in the background.
It looks like a variation of a rudbeckia, but not the more common black-eyed susan flower.
Beautiful photo; love the bit of purple you captured behind.
I have no idea but it’s sure pretty! Beautiful shot!
Very pretty.
I’m not sure, but maybe it’s some type of African Daisy? It’s beautiful, regardless of the name.
I don’t know the name either but capturing the purple behind it really sets it off–very creative!
Rhonda
I agree with another comment. It looks like a variety similar to blackeyed Susans. Very, very pretty.
I love the one single flower - it is beautiful!
Hope someone can name it for you.
Looks like a daisy but do not know for sure. It is just a pretty flower. Enjoy
Beautiful photo and flower…I am lousy with names…
Lovely image of this flower with well designed petals.
Thanks for the visit and the comment, Paz. Not sure what flower it is, but it might be part of the daisy generic type.
Would “beuatiful” be an acceptable answer?
wish I could help, but I don’t think I have ever seen this before. I like your photo Paz. The blurry leaf in the front adds a certain sense of peace to the composition.
happy first entry! it’s a gorgeous flower!
Don’t know it, either! But it’s a beaut!
Cheers, Klaus
It looks like an African daisy to me, an annual planted each year from seeds.
Delicate and lovely is what I’d call it!
I thought of a larger looking Black Eye Susan…. but I have only ever seen them with the ‘EYE’…
Mine’s Here
Glad you are participating in Today’s Flowers! What a beauty you have shown us. Absolutely gorgeous!
I was hoping someone knew the name. I captured one I’ll be posting sometime this week. I’ve never seen one before with that purple in the center so I snapped it. Nice to see someone else has it too.
Great shot by the way. It’s such a pretty little thing.
beautiful flower and you captured it perfectly.
I too am not sure about the name of this beautiful flower. I think it is some kind of a daisy or coneflower. But what ever it is it is just beautiful; as if it’s smile at me. You photo is great. I saw the photos of the purple petunias behind this flower and they are just gorgeous. Thanks for sharing these photos, I rally enjoyed them all.
You’ve stumped me here!
But it is very lovely.
We missed you at the little bloggers get-together.
Maybe the next one?
I’m off to England tomorrow and will see you on my return at the beginning of October.

Hi all: Welcome to new readers here. Thanks everyone for your comments and help with the name of the flower. Much appreciated.
Best,
Paz
What a sweet combo of colours. I love how the purple comes through & is reflected a little onto the yellow flower. Gorgeous Paz!
Ok…I’m late so I’m sure you’ve already figured out what the flower is. But I’m OCD so here’s a link to another shot of what looks like the same flower to me http://www.flickr.com/photos/29289063@N08/2791929158/in/pool-africandaisy
It is a beautiful photo Paz!
Thanks, Harriet!
Oh my goodness, LisaB! THAT’S it! Thank you!
