Today’s Flowers

October 26, 2008 | Filed Under Colors, Flowers, Found on a Building Stoop, Photo Blogging Theme Day, Today's Flowers, White

Anyone know the name of this flower?  Can someone tell me, please?   ;-)  These flowers were part of a collection in a flower box on a building stoop.  They are no longer there.   Something more appropriate for the Fall season has replaced it.

Check out TODAY’S FLOWERS for a fantastic collection of photos from all over the world.

  3. What gorgeous white flowers! It looks something like a snapdragon to me. I hope someone can identify it for you.

  4. I would guess snapdragon too…

  5. They look similas to snapdragons, also the leaves, somewhere in the back of my mind I hear a little bell tinkling but can’t put my finger on it. It looks like a bi-annual.

  16. I am sure it is not a snapdragon, however, I don’t know what it IS, so what good is that? In any case, a beautiful flower. Come see the rose I have put up for Today’s Flowers, if you have time.

  17. Reminds me of Easter for some reason.
    Lovely!

And now of to see the rest of the great posts of yours I’ve been missing.

  21. I would say snapdragons as well…and they look lovely in white. Such pretty, happy flowers! And happy day to you, Paz ((HUGS))

  22. Very nice and delicate flower, Paz! But I don’t know its name….

    Thank you for the congratulations!
    Um abraço!

  23. Looks like an unusual type of snapdragon…….but I might be wrong?
    Happy sunny week

  24. They look like orchids to me..but coming from me, you should have known better haha…

  25. I don’t know what they’re not snapdragons unless they’re a variation of them. Snapdragons’ petals close like a mouth over the center. I’ve seen this but never identified them. Nice shots by the way! :-)

  26. That´s a beautiful white flower. Beautiful shots.

  27. Beautiful photos. I think it’s a delphinium.

  28. Don’t know what they are, but they don’t look like snapdragons to me, and I do know snapdragons. Lovely photo!

  29. I see that you have got several suggestions, so I will not come with another (I don’t have anyhow) - I” just say: Lovely!

  30. It is a lovely flower Paz and I am sure I have seen them in bouquets but I can not give you the name of them either! This post could have been ‘The Mystery of the White Flower’!

  31. What beautiful flowers they would fit for a wedding decoration ! I have no idea of the name, I am very bad in flower names, lol !

  32. I love the white & green colour. They’re my colours. AM not sure what’s the name of this in english.

    ENjoy your day ahead!

  33. What a beautiful flower in your shot.

  34. Simple and very beautiful.

  35. I can recognize the plant group it belongs to, but the species ?? probably a hybrid or a …x… I really would like to know. Your shadow shot is outstanding ! a linear pearl, perfect composition.

  36. Thanks for your input, everyone!

  37. Hi Paz. This flower may be an open-faced snapdragon called Madame Butterfly. Check out this link: http://www.capitalgardens.co.uk/v3/antirrhinum-majus-double-madame-butterfly-mixed-snapdragon-seeds-p-10270.html and look especially at the white one.

    Best,
