Ecological Day: Broadway Malls

November 1, 2009 | Filed Under Broadway Malls, City Streets and Sidewalks, Ecological Day, Environment, Nature in NYC, Photo Blogging Theme Day

The Broadway Malls is a landscaped median strip that stretches down Broadway from 60th to 168th Street. Flowering trees, shrubs, plants, flowers like tulips, daffodils, muscari are planted and maintained yearly and benches are provided for people to sit, relax and enjoy their New York City surroundings from the middle of a busy New York street.   I’ve posted photos of the malls several times before (You can see one example of an earlier post here).  People and birds, even the squirrels enjoy it.  It’s a good place to enjoy a little bit of nature in the city.

This is my post for ECOLOGICAL DAY, a photo blogging theme day started by Sonia of Leaves of Grass.  It falls on the second day of each month.  We only have one Earth.  Let’s enjoy and treat it right.

  1. Squirrels hang out there also? How sweet! I’d happily sit there for a while. It looks like a nice spot.

    Happy Ecological Day!
