Soccer Ball on Broadway

March 7, 2013 | Filed Under City Streets and Sidewalks, New Yorkers

This young man walked past me kicking a soccer ball as if it were a very normal thing to do.

Mesmerized, I watched him kick his ball for five blocks.

There were a lot of people who walked towards him, but he managed not to kick the ball into them.

Fun to watch.

  2. My husband would have called this one of life’s little vignettes. You capture vignettes so well.

  4. 5 Blocks that’s impressive for city sidewalks and not run into anyone! And I so agree with Christine, you have a great way of finding & sharing life’s vignettes. :o ) Happy Spring, Paz ((HUGS))

  5. We used to kick the can just like this guy is kicking the ball. I don’t think the rural towns were that trashy but there was always a can to kick. I had forgotten all about that until I looked at your post. I might have to write one about kicking the can and refer back to your post about this guy kicking the ball.

  6. Now I would have kicked that ball into people passing closeby. I’m not very coordinated that way.
