Even when it’s cold outside, you’ll always see people in the park, including this lady and her two kids. She’d been sitting on the bench. I don’t know how long and then she decided to get up and leave. They must have come out for some fresh air.

Standing on Line
January 29, 2011 | Filed Under City Streets and Sidewalks | 4 Comments

This is always a crowded sidewalk. Behind the man is a line of people waiting to go into the bakery. I’ve never been in this bakery before, but it is very popular and always very crowded.

Edit. Note: The line is usually much longer than the one shown in the photo. Yes, perhaps, I’ll stop and go in the store to taste their goods. I think what has stopped me is the long line. Thanks Magical Mystical Teacher for the poem. Yay!
WAITIN’ AT THE BAKERY
Can’t you smell the biscuits,
The cookies and the bread?
All that doughy sweetness
Is going to my head!
I don’t mind the lineup
That spills beyond the door—
Gotta have my biscuits,
Cookies and much more!

Who says all New Yorkers wear black?
I like this blue coat and the hat!

Do They Need Jackets?
January 27, 2011 | Filed Under Snow, Statues, Winter | 5 Comments

These two statues (called Art and Science by Charles Keck) are located
at the entrance of the Columbia University campus main entrance.
As the snow fell, they didn’t seem to mind.

Or maybe they DID mind the snow and would liked a jacket or something.
What do you think?
