Tree decorations

December 20, 2010 | Filed Under Holiday Decorations | 14 Comments

I took these photos on November 5, 2010.  The workers were busy putting up the holiday lights on the trees.   The lights are now up. I have passed by a few times at night but wasn’t able to stop and take a photo.  My hands were full of grocery bags and the weather was just too damn cold.   Here’s a photo I took of the area lit up in lights. last year.

Happy Monday!

Lots of Christmas trees to sell.

WHO WILL BUY A CHRISTMAS TREE?

Who will buy a Christmas tree?

Who will take a look at me?

With my fragrance I will grace

The most humble living space.

Sparkling lights will make me sing

Like an angel on the wing.

Topped by brightly shining star,

I will shed joy near and far.

If you take me home tonight,

I’ll enchant you, not affright.

I’m a Tannenbaum, you see—

Let me be your Christmas tree!

Ruby Tuesday

December 14, 2010 | Filed Under New Yorkers, Photo Blogging Theme Day, Ruby Tuesday | 5 Comments

I’ve found that I will almost always see someone wearing a red coat on the streets of New York.

Perfect shot for Ruby Tuesday!

Check out WORK OF THE POET for red-color themed photos.

WOMAN IN THE SCARLET COAT

Woman in the scarlet coat,

Are you heading for a boat?

Or perhaps you need a bus

To get far away from us.

Whether wheels or sails you take

Don’t forget the chocolate cake

To sustain you on your way;

Red-clad damsel, now we say,

“Go with grace, enjoy the ride,

See you on the other side!”
