Bus Stop Shelter Decorations

This bus stop shelter is covered with several fliers advertising different services or available apartments. I’m particularly interested in the flier offering boxing lessons. Hmmm…. That should be interesting.

Ruby Tuesday: Flag Day
June 15, 2010 | Filed Under Flags, Photo Blogging Theme Day, Ruby Tuesday | 16 Comments

I had another photo that I’d planned on posting as my contribution to Ruby Tuesday, the photo blogging theme day where you post a photo that highlights the color red. Mary the Teach of WORK OF THE POET created and hosts this weekly event. However, when I’d stopped by her blog to list my original entry, I was reminded that June 14 commemorated Flag day of the United States. So, I decided to repost this previously-posted photo, instead.
Happy Flag day! Happy Ruby Tuesday!
Stop by WORK OF THE POET to see other fun Ruby Tuesday photos.

Ice Cream You Scream…
June 13, 2010 | Filed Under Bus Stops, New York Bus Life | 8 Comments

… We all scream for ice scream.
You should have seen these two enjoying their ice cream, on a hot and humid day, as they sat at the bus stop shelter and waited for bus. In their own world that involved only an ice cream, they licked and licked and licked away. It was easy to see that they savored each taste. I have a feeling that if the bus came, they would have waited for the next one, until they’d finished their ice cream in peace.
Have a great week!

2010 FIFA World Cup Starts Today!

Here’s a poster on the side of bus stop shelter. I’m not familiar with the characters but I believe they’re on the Mexican team. This team will play against the host country, South Africa on the first day of the World cup. I think it should be exciting. Below are details of the poster. Anyone familiar with the Mexican team? Feel free tell me the identity of the players in the poster. I’m sure I’ll find out about them when I’m watching the game.
I plan on watching the game from the comfort of my place. For those who weren’t able to make it to South Africa to watch the games, the next best thing would be to go the South African Restaurant, Madiba in Brooklyn. It’s the only South African restaurant, which I’m aware of, in the city.
Have a good Friday, all.
