Men in Yellow
June 6, 2010 | Filed Under City Streets and Sidewalks

The men in yellow work for a city tour guide company. I went to take the bus where the men were standing and one approached me to give me a bus tour flier. When he asked if I was interested in taking a tour, I wondered why. Then I realized that I had my camera around my neck and probably looked like a tourist to him (On several occasions, people see me with my camera and ask me from where I’m visiting.). I took the man’s brochure and thanked him nicely. Maybe one of these days, I make take one of these tour buses to see what the tourists see.

I’ve been mistaken for a tourist at times. It’s OK except for one lady that told me she wasn’t a New Yorker so I could “trust her” …grrr…that got me angry!
Someday we should take a walking tour together soemwhere in the city that we’ve never seen!
Interesting.
Cheers,
Rosa
Sometimes it’s surprisingly fun to play tourist in your own town/city.
) Happy Week, Paz ((HUGS))
A bus tour might be fun…and I know the rest of us would certainly enjoy it on your blog!
Surely, it could be nice “to be a turist” in one’s own town! Interesting image.
Great shot, Paz! The colors really jump.
I guess having a camera screams tourist because I get that a lot too. The one that really annoys me is when a fellow southerner (who has less of an accent than I do) asks if I’m a norther.
I love NY and I enjoy your take on it. And DO take a bus tour. I’ve done that with out of town visitors and I learned things I didn’t know about my city.
Hi Pat: LOL! New Yorkers get such a bad rap, don’t we?
Hi Rosa!
Hi Tracy: It IS fun!
Hi Sara: I may just do it.
Hi Pietro: Yes!
Hi Stephany: That’s funny.
Hi Mary: Welcome and thanks for your input. I will!
Thanks for stopping by, everyone!
