Ecological Day: Azaleas
May 4, 2010 | Filed Under Azaleas, Ecological Day, Flowers, Nature in NYC, Photo Blogging Theme Day

I love to see these flowers when they bloom (I think they are Rhododendrons. Please correct me if they are not.). Nature always beautifies the city.
This is my post for Ecological Day, an informal, monthly photo theme day blogging event. Started by Sonia of LEAVES OF GRASS, it takes place the second day of every month (yes, I know that the second day of the month has already passed. Pretend with me that it hasn’t. Okay?
).
Check out Sonia’s blog post on a photo essay of feral houses. Fascinating!
We only have one earth, folks, so let’s take good care of it.
Paz
Ed. Note: Thanks Christine, Constance and Gisela on correcting me about the flowers. Azaleas. Got it!

Ooo… such luscious color… like a sangria drink in summer… Oh, the ruffles, like ball gowns… Sooo LOVELY! Thanks for the feast of beauty, Paz… Happy Day ((HUGS))
A delightful New York Minute.
Yes, the top two photos are the Rhododendron and that top photo is spectacular! The lavender flowers below are azaleas. They are the same family as the Rhodies, but are smaller in stature and have smaller flowers.
Hope your week is going good!
Hugs,
Christine

Thanks for your great participation on Ecological Day, as always you do. Thanks also for the link to my post about Feral Houses.

Beautiful!! Such vibrant color, they glow!
Glad you got it straight, haha
Azaleas are a BIG part of the spring here in Pensacola. Never remember seeing them in Brooklyn. Thanks for the shots! Joann
Absolutely gorgeous!
Just catching up..
Missed Sonia’s Ecological Day again, too bad.
Just entered this event in my calendar.
I am reading a book about “Ecology for Gardeners”.
Very soon I can tell you all about spiders, worms, slugs rotifers, symphylans, tardigrades, lichens and fungi:)
The last two are my specialty.
Have a wonderful Sunday.
- Cheers Gisela.
That is so pretty! Love the droplets. Azaleas remind me ‘gumamela’ flowers in the Philippines.
Hope to see you on Norwich Daily Photo soon. Have a great weekend!
Wow – fabulous!
