This gentleman is probably on a lunch break — enjoying a nice, sunny day, while on the phone. The weather was perfect that day. Not too hot and not too cold. Perfect.

There’s nothing more annoying than finding that the train won’t stop at the station that you plan on using. This week, it happened to me at least three times. I had to get out of the station and take a crowded bus the rest of the way to my destination or take another train past my desired stop and then get on another train to bring me back. So annoying. Despite the convenience, the city keeps moving.

Ed. Note: Kudos to those who noticed the billboard sign, Royal Pains, in the background (You guys don’t miss a thing.). It accurately describes a commuter’s feelings when the subway isn’t running 100%. I did notice it but didn’t have a chance to comment on it. This post should be entitled, Royal Pains. Very appropriate.
Motion Thursday: In the Rain

I took this photo on a very rainy day last week. These cyclists participated in some kind of event, as the police escorted them to their destination. Every few blocks, the police would stop motor and pedestrian traffic, giving the bikers a chance to ride by without stopping. I never did find out about the occassion, though.

On the Sidewalk

I didn’t look closely at the books on the table. I knew that If I did, I’d end up buying a book or two or three. I couldn’t afford to do that, since I have a lot of books waiting to be read at home. Would you be tempted to stop and look at the books?

Pretty in Pink

Pink is not my favorite color but I do think the city looks pretty in pink. I saw these beautiful pink flowers on a section of the Broadway Malls. I saw dark pink, pale pink and white roses. What a lovely sight they make.
