Moving on Up

April 9, 2010 | Filed Under Apartment Buildings

Here’s an apartment building on Manhattan’s East side.  The window views must be spectacular but I wouldn’t like to live in this building.  Too tall for me.  I wonder how long it takes for an elevator to arrive.  I wonder what the person who lives on the top floor will do if the elevators stopped running.   Looks like a lot of stairs to climb.

  3. I feel the same way – to high for me. I don’t think I’d want to work in an office that high up either.

  7. Hi Paz! Wouldn’t mind! Had a friend with an appartment at 53rd by the River, 35th floor… Amazing views… Sometimes it took a bit to get one of the elevators, but who cares… ;) )

  8. I think that they may have express elevators for different levels – say, one for floors 1-10, another for 11-20, a third for 21-27 or whatever. That way, you don’t really have to wait & share with the entire building. Like the way they have it in other highrise buildings.

  9. Hi everyone: Thanks for stopping by.

David: That’s great idea for the express elevators. I’m not sure that all the buildings do that. At least not the elevators, in which I go. Hmmm…
