Umbrella ella ella ella
January 28, 2010 | Filed Under City Streets and Sidewalks

This umbrella in the middle of a busy street was a reminder of the rainy and windy weather we had on Monday. Throughout that stormy day, I saw lots of broken umbrellas in trash receptacles all over the city. I don’t know how this umbrella ended up where it is but a lot of drivers tried to avoid driving over it.

Tks to you, I am humming that song
wow..must be really strong winds..we dont have them here, not till umbrellas blown away. Happy weekend Paz
This is a great story. Makes you want to write a story about the person who lost it. Wouldn’t it be cool if it belonged to a woman who spotted her long-lost lover and in her haste to reach him, didn’t grip it tight enough, so the wind grabbed it and whipped it from her grasp. But she didn’t care …
Oops–when I said a great story–I meant a great pictoral story.
I can see why! we had winds like that again today too.
Have a great weekend Paz.
An interesting slight to document. I do agree with what you have blogged about.
Have a good weekend.

Broken umbrellas…probably lots of those yesterday! Something about this photo makes me sad though, the sight of the broken umbrella, no trash to be avoided. But I like your moment-in-time shop, Paz!
) Happy Weekend, my friend ((HUGS))
ha yes, another fatality. I saw a huge pile of umbrellas the other day across from Penn Station.
It’s useless to use an umbrella in such wind! I guess people are too idealistic and think each time they will succeed, but no.
Happy Weekend, Paz!
I think it has seen better days (lol).
Hi M.Kate: LOL! The song is running through my head, too.
Hi Tailwags: I LOVE that story, pictorial or otherwise.
Hi Lily: Have a great weekend, too!
Hi Alexander: Thanks: You, too!
Hi Tracy: It IS kind of sad.
Hi Kitty: I can imagine the pile at Penn Station. I think we just want to think our umbrellas are invincible.
Hi Rhonda: Yes, it’s definitely seen better days. May it rest in peace.
Have a great weekend, all. Thanks for stopping by.

Looks like Glasgow … but here I think they’d just run over it.
