Shadow Shot Sunday

January 30, 2010 | Filed Under City Streets and Sidewalks, Harlem, Photo Blogging Theme Day, Shadow Shot Sunday

Funny how many folks think that the streets of NY are always crowded.  It isn’t so.  I took this photo on a weekday, just before 12 noon.  There are many quiet streets in many quiet neighborhoods of the city.  Here’s one in Harlem (with some shadows).

Happy Shadow Shot Sunday!

  1. Thanks Paz for this educational shadow shot. No, really, I just never have thought of NYC as having any quiet neighborhoods. This has shown me a side I’ve never seen (as a visitor).

  4. I’m one of those people that thought New York was a city that never slept and every street was filled with people 24/7. But you see, I learn things by visiting you Paz! New Yorkers do sleep sometimes. And do not spend their every waking hour walking the streets :)

  16. What a great shadow shot, Paz! I’m afraid that I have a very “Hollywood-ized” image of NYC, which includes sidewalks always filled with people. I love that I can learn that is “ain’t necessarily so” from you. ;)

And I’m so glad you like my blog’s new look. I’m still working on it, but I’m happy with the results so far. It sure is different from the old template, isn’t it?

I hope you’re having a relaxing Sunday, my friend.

  18. Minus the anticipated bustle of NYC (to us who don’t live in the City expect), it is a quiet existence. The shadows and sun give a nice quality to the street, a small town look about it. Wide sidewalks and streets compel us outsiders to consider a city that isn’t all speed – I need to visit!

  19. Well since I took this photo around noon, on a weekday, I’d guess that mostly everyone is at work.

    Thanks for stopping by, everyone!

  22. Hello dearie Paz,
Amazing that the street is so empty. Awesome to think. You have the sunshine now?

I thought you have still snow? Hmmm…

    Lovely shot as usual, girl.

    Cheers for a great day & week-ahead.
