You never know what books you’ll find for sale on the street.

Have a good Monday and a good week, everyone.

Shadow Shot Sunday

January 30, 2010 | Filed Under City Streets and Sidewalks, Harlem, Photo Blogging Theme Day, Shadow Shot Sunday | 23 Comments

Funny how many folks think that the streets of NY are always crowded.  It isn’t so.  I took this photo on a weekday, just before 12 noon.  There are many quiet streets in many quiet neighborhoods of the city.  Here’s one in Harlem (with some shadows).

Happy Shadow Shot Sunday!

Future Artiste

January 30, 2010 | Filed Under Harlem, Parks, Riverside Park, children chalk drawings | 8 Comments

I see a future artiste evidenced in this child’s chalk drawing in the park.

Today is just too cold for anyone to play in the park.

Happy Saturday, everyone.

Umbrella ella ella ella

January 28, 2010 | Filed Under City Streets and Sidewalks | 12 Comments

This umbrella in the middle of a busy street was a reminder of the rainy and windy weather we had on Monday.   Throughout that stormy day, I saw lots of broken umbrellas in trash receptacles all over the city.  I don’t know how this umbrella ended up where it is but a lot of drivers tried to avoid driving over it.

Motion Thursday

January 28, 2010 | Filed Under City Streets and Sidewalks, Harlem, Motion Thursday, Photo Blogging Theme Day | 3 Comments

The people playing chess may not be moving but the pedestrians passing by are definitely in motion.

Check out MOTION THURSDAY to see other photos highlighting the theme: Motion.  You can also learn how to participate there.

Ed. Note:  Ferreira-Pinto of Photo Abirritante has made a very observant point, which I missed.  The chess players are also moving — their brain cells.  LOL!  Yes!  I stand corrected.    ;-)
