Sidewalk art by Hani Shihada

I’ve posted other sidewalk drawings (Obama and Hilary Clinton) by the artist Hani before.  You can find them here and here.

At the time I took the above photo (a few days ago), the art work was incomplete as the artist hadn’t finished working on Kennedy’s arm.  However, when I passed by on this rainy Sunday, the drawing had been completed.  Looked very nice, even in the rain.

Have a good week, everyone!

Shadow Shot Sunday

Shadows on this quiet street.

These Elephant Ears are what caught my attention on the block.

I like them and the shadows in the background.

Visit HEY HARRIET for more shadow shots.

Motion Thursday

Lately, the weather has been very nice here — nice enough for the Columbia University women’s rowing team as they practice on the Harlem River.  They’re pretty fast rowers and pass by very quickly.  Looks like good exercise.

I couldn’t decide which photo to post, so I’m posting both.

Join in on the fun of Motion Thursday.

Happy International Day of Peace

Hi everyone!  I finally have a new lap top and am connected to the internet.  Yay!

This Monday, 21 September 2009, is International Day of Peace.  It’s a global holiday started by the United Nations and highlights the end of conflict and the promotion of peace.   This day reminds me of a song I used to sing as a young girl in summer camp:

Let there be peace on earth

And let it begin with me

Let there be peace on earth

The peace that was meant to be…

It would be awesome to have everlasting, worldwide peace, don’t you think?   I pray it happens one day.

Happy Peace Day, everyone.  Have a great week.

Paz (which means ‘peace’)

Even in the Critical Care Unit of the hospital, I find shadows and can’t help taking a photo for SHADOW SHOT SUNDAY.
