Found on the Building Stoop
August 4, 2009 | Filed Under Begonias, Coleus, Flowers, Found on a Building Stoop, Plants

Flowers and plants to brighten the entrance way into an apartment building. Can anyone tell me the name of the flowers? I believe the plant is a Coleus. Right?
Have a great day!

definitely looks like a Coleus Paz. I wish I could tell you what the flowers are.
As usual, I don’t have a clue about plants. But it’s a nice catch and nowhere will this be more appreciated than in the city.
They’re begonias! Isn’t that a lovely bright combination?
Love from Lower Austria xxx
The red flowers look like begonias, but those dark, purple-y leaves look like coleus…they pair so nicely together there! Lovely…Happy Day, Paz

Another beautiful photo, Paz! And those flowers are indeed begonias, fibrous begonias to be exact.
All things that we’ve tried to grow, but have had (the coleus) dry out, or (the begonia) melt. Yes. Melt. Sigh.
This is why I only grow things which are edible.
Lots of pretty color! I really love that delicate green edging around those deep maroon leaves.
Gorgeous flowers, Paz! I agree with Sue, they are begonias and another is Coleus, as Lily said.
Beijos.
I don’t but love the arrangement.
Nice ones Paz, I don’t think I could ever live without flowers. I always tell my husband how friendly is our local shop where I buy flowers, but husband said that is becuase when they see me, they hear the cash register ringing. Maybe I spent too much on them. Happy week…or weekend, hugs/M
Thanks, everyone, for letting me know those are begonias. Thanks for stopping by!
Paz
Those are really beautiful purple leaves of coleus. I am sorry that I don’t know the name of those lovely red flowers by its sides.
