Think Green Thursday
June 3, 2009 | Filed Under Environment, Photo Blogging Theme Day, Think Green Thursday

This is a photo showing the domed part of Grant’s tomb, where Ulysses S. Grant and his wife Julia Dent Grant are entombed. It wasn’t long ago when the trees were bare in the wintertime and you could see the monument in its entirety right through the empty branches. However, the trees in the springtime add even more beauty to the setting of the mausoleum.
Despite the beautiful greenery in this photo, there is something out of place here. Have you spotted it? There’s a plastic bag stuck in one of the trees. Ugh! I hate to see that. Plastic trash is not only an eyesore but hurts our environment, as well.
Using biodegradable or recycable bags helps our environment a lot.
Even my dogs are doing their part to help the environment. First of all, I make sure to clean up after them, since that helps prevent water pollution (not to mention that it saves people from stepping in dog feces and it keeps our streets as clean as possible). When I pick up after the dogs, I use biodegradeable bags, which I buy from Poopbags.com. It’s a great company that sells biodegradable products.

We have a choice of black or green bags.
This post is my entry for THINK GREEN THURSDAY. The guidelines to this event state: "The prominent color of your photograph does NOT have to be green. This is not so much a color-based meme (though it can be) but one where people focus on the concept of environmental awareness, renewable energy and protecting natural spaces, animals and their habitats."
Let’s all ‘Think Green,’ folks.

Those “green” poop bags are pretty cute with the dog on it! I see those plastic bags stuck on trees and it is irritating to see them hanging there. I try to use reusable cloth bags when I can now.
Awesome!! I’m a big green fan myself
And I really want to see Grant’s Tomb!
Ah…I like this, the sight and smell of it. You do know I am talking about those trees..no the poop ;p Happy day Paz…and weekend’s so very near woohoo!
What a great Think Green Thursday post! It is the first time I see a BioBag for dogs. Have a wonderful day
Who is buried in Grant’s Tomb — an old sick joke and you gave the correct answer. LOL I do like the doggy poop bag. I used to walk our Autumn Eve around the block each morning. I carried a pancake turner in a lunch sack and used that for many years. When she passed away, we kept the pancake turner in case we ever get another dog.
I did begin a new blog, the other day, about the flowers that bloom here and opened it to the public. If you are interested.
