Wisteria in Bloom

May 25, 2009 | Filed Under Chelsea, Neighborhoods

A few weeks ago, in the beginning of May. when I hung out with Elizabeth of About New York,

we walked through one particular block where wisteria bloomed in abundance.

The place looked magical and it was the perfect sign of Spring.

Sadly, Elizabeth tells me that the Wisteria have finished blooming.  Summer is right around the corner.

  1. But this is a beautiful visual memory.
I was down that way this morning and there are some Beautiful old-fashioned climbing roses in the seminary garden.
    They smell heavenly.
    Your photos are stunning.
Maybe I should upgrade my camera!

  2. Just gorgeous! I’d love to have a wisteria in my garden, but I think the climate isn’t the perfect one, nor are my (lack of) green fingers.

  5. Beautiful stuff! We had some, when I was a young child, which had been grown from a cutting from a plant at the farmhouse where my dad grew up. It just lasts and lasts, apparently. Happily.

  6. So elegantly vintage looking are these colors. Something about flowering vines that evoke a bygone time.
    These are so beautiful Paz!
