Wisteria in Bloom
May 25, 2009 | Filed Under Chelsea, Neighborhoods | 13 Comments

A few weeks ago, in the beginning of May. when I hung out with Elizabeth of About New York,

we walked through one particular block where wisteria bloomed in abundance.

The place looked magical and it was the perfect sign of Spring.

Sadly, Elizabeth tells me that the Wisteria have finished blooming. Summer is right around the corner.

Bicycling on an Early Sunday Morning
May 24, 2009 | Filed Under Harlem, New Yorkers | 15 Comments

Yes, it’s Sunday and I normally post a shadow shot. However, I wasn’t able to take any shadow shots this week. I went out early Sunday morning to try to get a shot but the sun seemed to be taking a break. No sunlight, no shadows.
So, instead, here’s a photo of this father and his sons biking in the early Sunday morning. It was very cute to watch them as they stopped at every corner and got their bearings before continuing on. As the father gave instructions to the son in the red shirt, on where to turn and where to stop, the baby in the back sat quietly, eating a pickle. Cute.
You may not have found any shadow shots here but you can find a wonderful lineup of shadow shots from around the world at HEY HARRIET.
Have a great Sunday, all.

Selling fruits by the bus stop in Washington Heights. I took this photo from the bus as it passed the fruit stand very quickly.
Mangoes, pineapples, anyone?

It’s that time of the year, where students are graduating all over the city. The students look happy and their families look proud. Here are some Columbia University students after their graduation ceremony.

Think Green Thursday
May 21, 2009 | Filed Under Environment, Photo Blogging Theme Day, Think Green Thursday | 11 Comments

I’m grateful for the trees I see in the city. They do so much for us. Some trees wear name tags, like this American Elm. This is my contribution to THINK GREEN THURSDAY. You can go there to see other entries.

Here are the guidelines, in part, to THINK GREEN THURSDAY: "The prominent color of your photograph does NOT have to be green. This is not so much a color-based meme (though it can be) but one where people focus on the concept of environmental awareness, renewable energy and protecting natural spaces, animals and their habitats."
Let’s all think green.
