  15. We have 26 degrees this morning. That is hard on forsythia and their blossoms fall off. I hope some of my flowers survive under cover of a sheet.

    The devastating earthquake has been Monday early in the morning in Central Italy in the Abruzzo region: Piedmont region, where I live, which is in the North of Italy, is luckily safe. It’s a terrible tragedy: more than 200 victims and 17.000 homeless, for the time being. And the situation is extremely serious because there are still earth tremors.

    I’m glad you enjoyed your stay in Italy; I hope you’ll be able to visit Rome, Florence, Venice too. As for me, I’d like to return to New York, your very fine city, and see all the other wonderful places of your country.
