  12. Wow. We have maybe four blocks in this city where you can see the shadow of a building on another building. Almost nothing is tall enough to have a shadow cross the street like that.

    I love how that one sliver of sun lands on the sculptural entry detail. (We have only a few government buildings, and two banks, which are this ornate… in general, we are so frugal in this city that we don’t “waste” money on decorations… sigh. You should have heard the complaining about a “modern” building with red decorative streetlights. They tore down the facade and put up neutral brick and glass. It’s vanilla-boring.)
