The Phantom of Harlem and the Van Gogh’s Ear Award

January 14, 2009 | Filed Under Awards, Harlem, Neighborhoods, Seasons, Snow, Statues, West Side, Winter

This snow-covered statue reminded me of the Phantom of Opera.  ;-)   What do you think?

I took this photo the last time it snowed, a few days ago.  We are expecting snow, AGAIN, this Thursday.  I hope it doesn’t last long.

Thanks to Jientje, of Heaven in Belgium, for passing along the Van Gogh’s Ear award to me.

Roger of Idaho Photo created this award.  You can read about the inspiration for this award here.  Thanks so much, Roger, for that good laugh.  I needed it and I’ll take your advice, along with the award.

Roger ends his award post with the words, "Always remember you’re unique.  Just like everyone else."

LOL!  I pass this message, along with the Van Gogh’s Ear award, to those of you who have stopped by here.   Please feel free to copy it and post on your blog.  You can find a smaller image of the award below.

Paz

  5. That does remind me of the Phantom of the Opera. :D

We are having really warm weather over here in California. It’s been in the high 60s, low 70s this week. Pretty cool, but boy is it going to be a shocker when it gets cold again.

That van Gogh ear award is so clever and creative …. and funny! :-) Congrats!
That snow covered statue could pass for The Phantom of the Opera.
If it wasn’t so cold today I would have gone to battery park to see the airplane in the water –wasn’t that rescue a wonderful miracle?

  22. Does snow ever last long in NYC? Most of our “winters” are about 48 hours. We have more than one per year of course…
