Today’s Flowers: Alongside the Highway

December 7, 2008 | Filed Under Colors, Flowers, Photo Blogging Theme Day, Pink, Roses, Today's Flowers

Last week, as I passed along the highway on the East Side (I forget the name), I was surprised to see these beautiful, vibrant, pink flowers still in bloom.  I have no idea what kind of flowers these are.  Do you?

Happy Monday, everyone!

Ed. Note:  Thanks, everyone, for letting me know these are ROSES — wild roses.  LOL!  I thought I’d recognize a rose when I saw it.  Apparently not.  I simply did not expect to see roses on the side of the highway (the FDR Drive, by the way, I just remembered the name) at this time of year.  The roses certainly looked beautiful there.  I’m glad I was able to notice them and learn something new from you all.

  21. Amazing cerise colour on these beauties! Seeing roses, flowers, out of season like this always make me wee sad since I think they really ought to have gone into hibernation already and not persevere in the cold.
