First Snow Storm in the City

December 19, 2008 | Filed Under Harlem, Neighborhoods, New York Subway Life, Seasons, Snow, Subway Folks, Subway Stations, Subway Trains, Winter

I like the snow when I’m watching it from the comfort of my home.  Otherwise, I don’t like it much.  It’s a pain for me to travel in it, like today.  Today, I took the bus and the train.  The bus sucked.  It was late and when it finally arrived, just before it got to my bus stop, it got stuck on the bottom of the hill.  Another bus got into a traffic accident.  Eventually, a third bus came along and I was able to get on it.

After my bus ride, I took the train and managed to take these photos.  The lady in the first photo just missed her train.  She could only watch it leave without her.

In the meantime, the snow started to come down harder and faster.

Despite the snowy weather, thankfully, the trains seemed to run better than the buses.

Thanks, Amy of The Heart of a Seed for passing along this award.  In turn, I’d like to pass it to all you lovely bloggers reading this post right now.  I so enjoy your lovely blogs.  Thank you!

Paz

  4. I’m like you, I like the snow if I’m at home and in the house, not having to travel in it. The photo of the woman who just missed her bus is great. I hope you weren’t late! Stay warm and take care. :)

Glad you got home safe and sound. Must be a bit chilly taking the dogs out though….

  6. I love the snow and I hope we’ll get some amount of it soon because we get use to have snow for New Year. But I understand that it is a pain when people have to go somewhere when it is snowy weather. When I go to my work I use both tram and a bus and many of times I have used to watch my bus leave without me. What an awful feeling it is; looking at a lady on your photo, as if I am looking at myself.
I like the photos you posted; they are great!
Congratulation on the award you got. You deserve it, indeed.

  7. This looks lovely to me! On the other hand weather sitations like this sure mess up the city life as we know it. But perhaps it is good for us city folks to have to adjust to the weather too now and then…;)

I am so loving the snow. Still snowing and blowing out there even after about 24 hours! Not deep, but beautiful!
    Happy Holidays to you Paz!
