Day after the Snow Storm

December 22, 2008 | Filed Under Birds, Brownstones, Harlem, Neighborhoods, New York City Wildlife, Seasons, Snow, Sparrows, West Side, Winter

I took a photo of this building a short time ago for Shadow Shot Sunday.  It was covered in shadows.  Do you remember it?  Now it’s covered in snow.

Some parts of the sidewalk have been cleared, others not.

These kids looked and sounded very excited.  I wonder where they were going that Saturday morning.

While walking, I came across these three sparrows.

Have a good Monday, everyone.

Paz

  1. What pretty snow pictures! I like the second one of the man walking down the sidewalk, the snow is really pretty on the trees.

We ended up with not much snow, just a blast of cold air. It’s 0 degrees with a wind chill of -22! Crazy cold outside.

  3. Hello Paz ..nice snowy pictures..

Christmas is a holiday for friends,
However they may be, or not, related.
Remember that the three wise kings were strangers,
In search of one remote, uncanny dream.
So may we all be far more than we seem,
Together bound for dark and haunting changes,
More lovely for the loves we have created
Along the lonely paths from means to ends,
Stumbling towards that star of Bethlehem.
Have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year.

  4. How beautiful and exciting! A snow like that would close down the city here but I guess NYC is used to it(LOL). Hope it doesn’t snow like this in February.
    Have a great Monday too!

  6. Paz- NY is so beautiful under that fleeting cover of snow. It lasts only as long as the first salt spreader truck but oh how muffled and hushed the city seems for that brief while.

I miss those winter days ( for a little while, anyway )

    Happy Holidays Paz.

  14. I don’t get snow so it’s really nice to see shots like these. I think it’s really interesting too to see all that snow and the air conditioners in the windows. It just made me feel extra cold suddenly. :-)
