Just recently:   A beautiful and calm day on the Harlem river.  It was not long ago, that everything was green here

And some awards:

Thanks to Pat of MILLE FIORI FAVORITI for passing along the Premio Dardos Award. "This award acknowledges the values that every blogger shows in his/her effort to transmit cultural, ethical, literary and personal values every day."

Thanks, also, to Amy of THE HEART OF A SEED for passing along The Marie Antoinette – A Real Person, A Real Award .

I feel very honored and would like to pass them on to:

1-  Everyone who has stopped by here.

2-  Everyone on my Blogroll.

I enjoy and appreciate all your blogs!

Northern part of Manhattan.

Recently June of Spatter, Lily of Long Island Daily and Bettye of 365 Days in Islip passed out this Blogging Friends Forever award.  Thank you, June, Lily and Bettye!  There are specific rules on passing out the award.  However, I’m going to do things a little differently.

I’d like to pass this award to:

1- All those who have stopped by the blog.

2-  Everyone listed in my BLOGROLL section.

I enjoy your blogs and am happy when you can stop by mine with your comments.  It’s no fun without you.

There’s no obligation to receive this award and pass it along.  I’m passing out the award in the spirit of fun and appreciation for your blogs.  No pressures here.  Okay?

Oh!  If anyone is  interested in the original rules, here they are:

Here are the rules for the award:
1. Only five people allowed
2. Four have to be dedicated followers of your blog
3. One has to be someone new or recently new to your blog and live in another part of the world
4. You must link back to whomever gave you the award

Ruby Tuesday: Door Handles

November 10, 2008 | Filed Under Colors, Doors/Doorways, Photo Blogging Theme Day, Red, Ruby Tuesday | 29 Comments

Earlier this summer, I took this photo of red door handles on a bank door.  It’s in the shape of "C" — the first letter of Commerce Bank (one of the many banks in the city).

Just recently I passed by the bank and to my surprise, the door handles have been replaced, along with the name of the bank.  Even the red color has changed.  Now, it’s green.

Apparently some kind of business transaction occurred.  Commerce Bank has now become TD Bank or something like that…

*Sigh*  Sometimes, things can change so quickly in the city — from one minute to the other.

Visit WORK OF THE POET to find out how to participate in this photo blogging event and to see a list of other photos with a touch of red.

I took this photo a few weeks ago.  Now the small potted tree and flower have been removed.

Nowadays, when I see my shadow, I can’t resist taking a photo.   LOL!

Stop by HEY HARRIET to learn how to join in on the fun and see a wonderful collection of other shadow shots.  Happy Shadow Shot Sunday!
