Ruby Tuesday: Leaves
September 15, 2008 | Filed Under Colors, Leaves, Photo Blogging Theme Day, Red, Ruby Tuesday

I passed by a bush of leaves and was amazed to see that the top part had turned red but the bottom part was still green. Check out WORK OF THE POET to see other fun Ruby Tuesday entries.
Happy Ruby Tuesday!

These are lovely shots. Plants are amazing, aren’t they.
I love the second shot. And the “ruby” looks so wonderful against the blue sky. Applause!

very nice –red hearts almost
Those are great against that blue sky!
I love how the sun is shining through the red leaves. You can see all of the little veins in them. The rich red is so striking against the sky!
Love the red against the blue sky. Looks like fall is on it’s way there.
The leaves look as if the artist dabbed here and there with his acrylics to make the leaves look as great ax s they do.
I’m guessing this beauty was found somewhere in the five boroughs. Nature abounds around NYC, although in some neighborhoods, you just look a little harder…
I love the red against that perfect blue sky! Very stiking!
now that is a very cool looking plant. how tall is it? it looks so frail to be growing so strongly straight up in the air.
i have a stupid wordpress question for you…why is it on blogger i can click an option when i post a comment to have comments emailed to me, but with wordpress i can’t figure out how to receive the comments for a post i commented on via email? i have to go back to the posts i commented on to read the new posts (that’s if i can remember the posts i commented on)
OMG, how many people are laughing at me for that question?
Very nice photo.
Great reds and wonderful contrast with a brilliant blue sky.
Have a great Ruby Tuesday.
Hi Paz – Those leaves made a perfect subject for Ruby Tuesday – and they’re lovely shots regardless of the “day”.
I put my post up on our family website this time – instead of my gumboyaya site. Hope you’ll stop by for a visit.
Cheers! Cindy
What a great ruby tuesday shot! Wonder what kind of bush that is.
Sorry you couldn’t make it, Paz. Hope you are feeling better.
We’ll organize something again soon.
The light in the first shot is particularly interesting. I thought they were artificial leaves at first — made of silk or tissue paper. Have a good Ruby Tuesday.
How beautiful that first image is against the blue sky! It is so vibrant.
Lovely post.
I enjoy these beautiful pictures a lot!
What great shots. I’d love to see that first one enlarged and hanging on a wall. The contrast of the red leaves against the blue is so lovely… and the light makes the leaves like jewels. Gorgeous. (Can you tell I liked it?)
Lovely shot of the red leaves against the blue sky. Our leaves will probably be changing in a few weeks. I love the winter change. Thanks for the great Ruby Tuesday posting.
Love the powerful red color against the soft blue. Great!
Gorgeous shots for Ruby Tuesday!!
A real artistic bush would have added a yellow leaf too!
Beautiful!
When we were in NH we saw that too – a totally green tree with one branch turning deep, deep red.
How unusual! The leaves look brilliant against the clear blue of the sky!
Stunnng shots. Congratulations!
Love that first photo especially: such clean lines and pure, intense colours.
Gorgeous against the blue sky.
Thank you for visiting my red mosaic.
Paz, that first photo is exquisite!
Cool series of photos! Red on top, green below? Hmmmm.
So beautiful against that perfect blue sky!
I love these shots. Taken perfectly to show off the beautiful leaves.
I don’t blame you for having to stop and shoot those leaves! The trees have barely started to change color here yet.

Yes, that does happen. It also happens with most trees as they will begin the color change at the top and end up at the bottom. The top leaves fall first too as they supply of food gets shut off before those on the bottom. But your photograph of these leaves is astonishing. I like it. It looks almost like some kind of display for sale in a store. Nice.
I published a post about squirrels and other animals and some of the problems they have. I hope you can take the time to read it. That animals suffer and we do not seem to notice seems so sad. Look at my Dances on Sunshine
Paz–just caught up with you again. Once again I envy the access you have to NYC–but thanks for passing so much of it on to us. The leaves are fabulous!
Neat how that did that. Love the shots.
Hi Paz
The foliage is striking and beautiful red and blue hue of the sky as backdrop, beautifully highlighted the vegetation.
hugs, Denise
Gorgeous contrast between the blue sky and red leaf.
fantastic, excellent.
That is a lovely picture indeed! Love the redness of the leaves.
