Shadow shot of a row of flower boxes.  To see the flowers, go here (By the way, can anyone tell me the name of the flowers, please?).

Check out Hey Harriet for a collection of creative shadow shot entries by others, as well as the guidelines to participate.

Paz (watching The Sound of Music, one of her favorites)

Ed. Note:  I’m told the flowers are called Impatiens.  Thanks, Lily!

  2. Great shadow shot Paz! I checked out the flowers & they are lovely. I have no idea what they’re called but notice ‘Lily’ above came through with an answer for you :)

Enjoy your movie viewing! (would you believe that I’ve never watched The Sound of Music!)

Hi Harriet: Thanks for checking out the flowers. Appreciate it. You haven’t seen The Sound of Music before. Oh, my! I’ve only seen it like a million times. *big grin*

  4. They are Impatiens w/o the ‘t’…beautiful shots of both…like little wild-haired urchins peaking over the rail.

  11. The shadow you caught is very crisp looking – down to the details of the flower petals :) Great catch for SSS.

I have also planted double impatiens in flower boxes before and they are really gorgeous – such an easy flower to take care of.

Harriet – you HAVE to go get The Sound of Music – it’s just not allowed to NOT watch it LOL I can’t count the number of times I’ve seen it – along with on stage several times :)

  14. Nice pic!

I’m not much of a musical fan, though “Singin’ in the rain” is one of my favourite movies ever, I never ever get tired of that one!! “Moulin Rouge” and “Cabaret” are great too. “Sound of music” is kind of alright, as far as musicals go…;)

  18. I love this shadow shot. I think it takes someone who thinks “Out of the Box” to even notice the lovely shadows around us, let alone photograph them in such a wonderful way. Nice job Paz.

Hi Joy: Thank you! Same to you.

Hi there, Jules: Welcome and thanks! Hey Harriet, the creator of the shadow shot event is responsible for getting me to think “out of the box” when looking for these shadow shots. It’s been a fun exercise.

  20. Paz: I plant these Inpatient’s each year. They come in a variety of colors. They are an annual and die out in the winter.

  24. This pic is like a very clever illusion. Shadows of flower boxes that don’t actually appear in the pic! Just the fence shadow! Love this one!
