This was lying in the street as I walked past a construction site.  I think it’s a hubcap.  What do you think?

Inspired by Sandra’s awesome black and white photos, I thought the above photo might look nice in black and white.  Unfortunately, I’ve only done one photo in black and white on Photoshop months ago.  I’ve forgotten how to do it.  *sigh*  Can anyone tell me how?  Thanks.

Ed. Note:  Thanks Bonnie, for the tip!  Got it!  Thanks Peter for your tips, too.  I’m going to work on it.  I just looked at your links and was able to use the information to tweak the photo some more.  Yay!  This was fun.

 From the archives:

Next to apartment buildings and townhouses, located on Riverside Drive on the West side, one can spot  a few remaining 19th century mansions like the one above.

I love how pansies come in so many different, glorious colors.  I love how people say they have faces.   They really do!

Two…

August 17, 2008 | Filed Under Apartment Buildings, Neighborhoods, Towers, Water Tower, West Side | 11 Comments

… water towers.  Normally, you’d only see one water tower on a building.  This is a little different because there are two.  I’m not sure why but guess that the towers serve a large building.  I wasn’t sure how the towers worked but Mari and Joy graciously explained in the comments section of the post here.

Happy Monday, all!
