Donuts, Anyone?

I haven’t had donuts, especially one from Dunkin’ Donuts in a very long time.  How about you?  Do you have a favorite place to go for donuts?

  1. Hi Paz! Hmmm, that sounds like a good idea getting some donuts. I like them from DD’s or at the bakery or out of the entenmans(sp?)box from the grocery. I’m not picky as long as they are fresh.

  2. Hey there, Lily: I’m with you. I prefer fresh donuts first and foremost. I know that a lot of people like Krispy Kreme donuts but they’re way too sweet for me. I actually love Entenmann’s doughnuts a lot. I like their baked goods. Of course, DD’s aren’t bad at all. ;-)

  5. Hi Paz,

I haven’t had Dunkin’ Donuts in a long, long time! Our local grocery store still makes their own homemade donuts, and they are so yummy. We get them once in awhile and take over to my parents house. Their local grocery store only sells those pre-packaged kind, and the ones in their bakery aren’t homemade right there. I hope you’re feeling much better by now. I’ve been thinking of you!

  7. I don’t Sweden is a donut-country, we’re more a cinnamon bun place:) I rarely eat donuts, but if I do I want them stuffed with applepurée.

I can remember one time, when in high school a friend and I shared a rather big box of donuts for lunch – those days when one could eat just about any amount of anything and not gain any weight – I felt rather sick afterwards… Perhaps that was the time I decided donuts aren’t good for me…:)

  8. I think it’s been about 8-10 years! truly! i never liked them much, even when I could eat them….they always started so soft and sweet and yummy, but I could taste the lard on my lips afterward and that gagged me. Although, had I known i was going to be diagnosed with celiac, I would have had one more. I’ve never had a Krispy Kreme, they smell good….i live through smell!!

  9. Ciao, Pietro: That sounds so delicious!

Hi M.Kate: Actually, the Mooncake desserts look tastier. ;-)

Hi Melissa: Those homemade donuts sound really good. Yum! Thanks for thinking about me. I think that’s why I’ve been feeling much better, every day. xxoo

Hi June: A Krispy Kreme devotee, I see. ;-)

Hi Pia: LOL! A whole box? Oh, the good ole days. ;-)

Hi Christine: I wouldn’t like the taste of lard on my lips afterwards, either. So does that mean you have to eat gluten-free foods?

Thanks for stopping by, folks. It’s no fun without you.

    Paz ;-)

  10. That’s right Paz, all gluten free for me…I still have taste memory though and terribly miss foods like real pizza, oatmeal raisin cookies, and homemade pasta….what can you do.

  11. I’ve never been a big fan of donuts. A Krispy Kreme store has finally opened here in Brisbane. I’ll certainly be trying them because everybody raves about those ones!

I love your photo way more than the donuts! :)

  12. Hi Christine: I’m not sure how I’d feel if I were in that position. I guess I’d probably just have to deal with it, huh. ;-)

There are two fun gluten-free food blogs I like to read. You’re probably aware of it and of course, already know the foods you like to eat, but I’ll look for the links and pass them along. One of the bloggers just published a memoir, which includes gluten-free recipes, etc… It’s really good.

    Okay, here it is:
Gluten-Free Girl by Shauna. She’s the one who has a book out. At the moment, she has guest bloggers on her site, since she recently gave birth to a girl.

Hi Harriet: LOL! Thanks for your gracious compliment. Let us know what you think of the Krispy Kreme donuts.

    Best to all,

  13. HI Paz!! Thank you! I follow Gluten Free Girl from time to time, but apparently it’s been a while since I didn’t even know she was pregnant. I will check out the other too! I’ve been meaning to get Shauna’s book, but ever since shelby was born i haven’t had much time for me. i keep it on my ‘to do’ list!!

  14. Hi again Christine: I can imagine how busy you are with everything you have to do and the baby. I also meant to get Shauna’s book but have been sidetracked several times. When I do, I’ll let you know what I think. If you happen to read the book before me, please let me know your thoughts on it. ;-)
