I took this photo from the bus. A few years ago, there was a big fire with some of the residents still stuck in the building (the one on the left). A mother had to throw her babies from the window. Luckily someone caught them.

Waiting for Food

I’ve developed an interest in photographing the birds of New York City. So far, I’ve seen sparrows, starlings, a mourning dove and the ever famous pigeons. The pigeons are the only ones that will stay still for more than a few seconds for me to take a shot. Despite their nickname, ‘Rats with Wings’, I’m beginning to appreciate the pigeons. They aren’t bad looking, they’re very intelligent and resilient. They are survivors, like all the other birds in the city.
