Just Two City Lions

Patience
Patience and Fortitude, are probably the most famous lions in the city. They sit in front of the New York Public Library. As you face the library, Patience sits on the left and Fortitude sits on the right. I’m tempted to tell you that I heard a very low growl come out of one of them, but I’m afraid Maryam will say it’s the voices in my head and tell me to take my medication. So, I’m keeping what I hear to myself.
For the holidays, they are dressed in wreaths around their necks. There’s even a little ceremony, which includes carolers, that takes place when the lions are wreathed.

I like the symbolism of patience and fortitude being lions, Paz. The sculptures look beatiful. They are wearing their wreaths regally.
These are so gorgeous! And patience……hmmm…should be a new year’s resolution of mine:-)
Yes it is. Nice Shot!
Happy new year!
They look so majestetic!
Hi Olivia: They are regal-looking, even with the wreaths around them.
Hey there Maryam: Probably we could all use some exercise in patience, especially in this day and age where we get things instantly.
Hi Alexander! Thanks and Happy New year!
Hi Britt-Arnhild: They are majestic-looking, aren’t they?
Happy New Year to all!
Paz
Now I definitely missed the lions when I was there. So much more to see and do in NYC!
