Red Door

I notice that a lot of the Catholic Church doors are painted red. Maybe it’s not just Catholic Church doors but that’s what I’ve seen so far. I like the red doors. I’m going to look for more.

Let’s Go to Church (and Blogging Meme)
January 27, 2008 | Filed Under Cathedrals/Churches, Harlem, Memes, West Side | 8 Comments

There are soooo many churches in the city, of different denominations, in different types of building structures.
On another note, Elizabeth of The House in Marrakesh, tagged me for a meme (?) asking for tips on creating a successful blog. Sarah of Passementerie started this meme. They both have excellent advice.
I’m a relatively newbie blogger. I’m not sure I have anything of importance to share about successful blogging. The only thing that comes out at me is to make sure that you (the blogger) should blog about something that you really like, probably are even passionate about. That way it is contagious and others would want to read your blog and come back for more. I’m an amateur and this is my first photo blog but I’ve been inspired by other bloggers and am excited to share what I see in NYC with anyone interested.
Second, I’d say, blog for yourself. What I mean is blog because you want to. Do not blog because you want to know how many readers you will have, etc… I remember a while ago, one blogger went on an angry tirade on her blog because she felt that not enough people visited her blog. She was mad that another blogger received more readers and comments than she did and one of his most popular blog posts was about shaving his head. LOL! She felt that she blogged about something more important, so others should have visited her blog and left more comments, instead. I couldn’t help think that wasn’t the right attitude to have about blogging. Shortly after her rant, she quit blogging.
So these are my humble suggestions about blogging.
I think I’m supposed to tag others (7 bloggers) to contribute. If anyone is reading this post and is interested, then
1- I
2- tag
3- you!
4- Go
5- for
6- it!
7- Please give us your tips on successful blogging.

Ed. Note: If you decide to do this on your blog, please let me know, so that I can go and read it. And don’t forget to tag 7 other bloggers for their tips.
