Minute before: The woman in the last photo got on the train and sat down. Seconds later she fell asleep. She’d wake up every other subway stop, I suppose to make sure she hadn’t missed her stop.

Minute before and after: Different types of pedestrians (students, business people, parents and children…) passed by this building. Many headed to and from the subway station close by.

A minute before: Men moving some furniture passed by. Other people passed by. One man put some money the musician’s jar and stopped a few seconds to listen to the musician before moving on.

Minute before and after: Who said New York City is a city that never sleeps? That’s not entirely true. At five in the morning, very few people walked the sidewalks and very little traffic crowded the roads. A major part of the city still slept. Lack of chirping in the air showed that even the birds slept, too.
